The infamous ‘Trump dossier’ has been causing controversy in the United States for a while now. This dossier contains unverified allegations of misconduct and collusion between Donald Trump and his campaign and the Russian government during the 2016 U.S. presidential election and the period preceding the election.
Earlier this year, former FBI Director James Comey said that he had information about President Trump’s involvement with the Russian government. That is why he was asked to testify in front of Senate. Many were patiently waiting to see what his testimony would uncover, but all he said was former Attorney General Loretta Lynch tried to get the FBI to downplay that probe.
Comey said this before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence:
“At one point, she directed me not to call it an ‘investigation’ but instead to call it a ‘matter,’ which confused me and concerned me.
That was one of the bricks in the load that led me to conclude I have to step away from the department if we are to close this case credibly.”
He later added that Lynch’s request “gave the impression the attorney general was looking to align the way we talked about our investigation with the way a political campaign was describing the same activity,” reports The Daily Wire.
Judge Andrew Napolitano, a legal expert for Fox News, said this about Comey’s testimony:
“I would actually extend it one step farther. There is enough evidence here, just on the basis of the little snippets given to the Senate Intelligence Committee by former FBI Director Jim Comey, that Mrs. Lynch was either conflicted or working at odds with the Justice Department and in behalf of Mrs.
Clinton’s campaign and the DNC when she told them to use different terminology for the investigation.
This terminology may be indicative of a mindset on the part of Attorney General Lynch that she was going to do whatever she could to prevent Mrs. Clinton from getting indicted.”
Judge Napolitano concluded his statement by saying that Lynch could be sent to prison for up to 10 years because of what she did.
Her actions were the same as obstruction of justice, which is the same thing they are accusing the President of doing.
